Container cars usually take the form of a combination of cars and trains. This combination is semi-hung, full-hung and double-hung, of which semi-hung cars and trains are the majority.
There are two types of semi-trailers that make up the container car train: flat type and skeleton type. The loading part of the flatbed semi-trailer is a flatbed cargo platform, which can be used to ship containers or ordinary large and large cargo, and the use efficiency of the vehicle is high. The loading part of the skeleton semi-trailer is the chassis frame without the cargo platform. After the container is loaded on the car and fixed by the twist lock device, it also becomes the strength member of the semi-trailer. Skeleton semi-trailers can only be used for the purpose of shipping containers. It has the advantages of small weight, simple structure and convenient maintenance.
According to the structural form, the container semi-trailer is divided into straight frame type and gooseneck type. The straight-frame semi-trailer is suitable for loading containers with flat-bottom structure; the gooseneck semi-trailer is specially used for loading containers with grooved bottom structure, which can reduce the loading height.
